Well the time is almost here for us to say farewell to Singapore for this trip. This was our first proper visit to the island nation and we’ve had a ball. We’ve only been here a few days but it seems we’ve done quite a bit!
This visit we’ve:
wandered the streets of Little India and had great food a Tekka Centre, our introduction to the Hawker Malls
spent a day at Singapore Zoo, we walked for hours as we checked out the animals, spent ages watching the chimpanzees and orangutans
became experts at using the MRT system, our tourist passes were a great buy
headed over to Sentosa Island for a day, a little spoiled by the rain and confused information from man at ticket booth but still a good place to see.
caught the cable car back and had drinks at Sapphire Bar up on Mt Faber
had a great night out at Clarke Quay, what a cool place! Had the best paella at Octapas and then ventured to Marrakesh Bar for drinks and a shisha pipe
ridden the streets of Singapore in a rickshaw
seen and smelt the delights of Chinatown, more amazing food and at such cheap prices
explored Bugis Street Markets, a rabbit warren of stalls selling anything and everything you could want or need
So now we pack and prepare to head for the airport so the next half of the trip can begin, our stay in Vietnam.
Have left a list of things for our next trip though as we will return to this amazing place. Still do do on our list are:
Universal Studios, we didn’t have enough time on Sentosa to do them properly this trip
a visit to the Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling
ride on the Singapore Flyer
trip to the top of Marina Bay Sands to see the SkyDeck, we did try but it was closed due to rain
a walk around the Botanic Gardens, again messed up by torrential rain
shopping on Orchard Road, just ran out of time
So thank you Singapore for a great time, we’ll catch you on the next visit.
